Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Petra: Petrol Tracker app (“Petra”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, and the choices you have. We aim to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
The short version
- We collect only what Petra needs to work: your account details and the vehicle and fuel records you enter.
- We don’t show ads, we don’t use third-party analytics or tracking, and we never sell your data.
- You can export or delete your data, or delete your account, at any time from inside the app.
Information we collect

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, health data, payment details or device advertising identifiers. If you sign in with Apple and choose “Hide My Email”, we only receive Apple’s relay address.
How your information is stored
Your account and records are stored with our database provider, Supabase, on cloud servers that may be located outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to make sure our providers protect your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. Data is encrypted in transit, and access rules in the database mean each account can only read and change its own records.
Sign-in is handled by Supabase Auth. If you choose Sign in with Apple or Google, Apple or Google authenticates you under their own privacy policies and share your email address (and name, if you allow it) with us.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that run Petra for us — Supabase (database and sign-in), Apple and Google (if you use their sign-in), and Apple (App Store distribution). We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We may disclose information if required by Australian law.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete records, they’re removed from our database. When you delete your account, your account and every record in it are permanently deleted.
Your choices and rights
- Access and export: Profile → Export all data (CSV).
- Correct: edit any vehicle, fill-up, service, reminder or your name in the app.
- Delete data: Profile → Privacy & Data → Delete all data.
- Delete account: Profile → Privacy & Data → Delete account, or email us.
You can also ask us for a copy of your information or to correct it by contacting us below. If you’re unhappy with how we handle a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Children
Petra is designed for drivers and isn’t directed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be highlighted in the app.
